I remember back in elementary school absolutely loving the Valentine’s Day parties! I loved getting to decorate the “mailboxes” and working on writing out my cards at home. I loved getting to deliver them to everyone in the class. This inspired me to come up with a Valentine’s Day gross motor game that incorporated one of my favorite aspects of Valentine’s Day from the past. The valentine delivery relay is a great way to incorporate movement at a Valentine’s Day party and throughout the month of February.
Valentine’s Day Gross Motor Game – Valentine Delivery Relay

Valentine’s Day Relay -How To Play
Get kids into teams of 4-5.
Place hearts face down in front of each team. Have at least the same number of cards as students. Optional: Have double the number of cards so students have to do the relay twice!
The first student turns over the heart and performs the action on the heart. The teacher designates at the beginning of the game how many repetitions of each exercise must be performed. (Example designating 10 would mean 10 jumping jacks, arm circles etc.)
Once the child has performed the action they run and deliver their Valentine and return to the back of the line.
The next child goes and the relay continues.
The first team to have delivered all of their mail wins!
