Tummy time is a regular part of your day when playing with your baby. You’ve tried giving your baby different toys, got down on the floor with your baby, but now you are looking for something different for tummy time play. The same old is getting a little bit too boring. You’d like to find something that your baby will be able to play with for more than just tummy time. The good news is that I have an idea that has worked for me. Tummy time sensory bag play is a great option for tummy time at our house, but the sensory bag can also be utilized as your baby grows and even into toddlerhood (my toddler likes it!)!
Tummy Time Sensory Bag Play
I started by making the sensory bag. I have a full tutorial here. It’s so simple it only takes a couple of minutes.
Next I taped the bag down to the floor. I always use painter’s tape.
I like to place my baby on a Boppy or rolled blanket so he has a little elevation when exploring the sensory bag with his hands. I also don’t have to worry about his mouth getting on the bag in this position.
The sensory bag provides visual stimulation as well as different tactile input for my baby while in tummy time.
